The dead of New Orleans have a unique society, detailed in the Wraith Player's Guide under "Les Invisibles: Wraiths of the Caribbean" and further detailed in the Shadow Player's Guide. The Loa, wraiths who serve Les Mysteres (powerful beings who dwell deep in the Tempest), have a unique relationship with members of the living who practice the arts of voodoo and similar religions, called the Bata'a. The dead trade knowledge and favors for the sacrifices of the living in a mutually beneficial relationship, often involving the practitioner of voodoo allowing the wraith to 'ride' them, so that they can once again taste the pleasures of the other side of the Cosmic Mirror. This makes for a more interesting environment to role-play in, as ghosts are not as limited in their interaction with the material world as they might be in a setting set in Stygia.
