For centuries, the Brujah have been attacking the power structure of the Ventrue in England, mostly through peasant revolts and attempts at revolution. The elders of the clan, however, have always taken to more subtle approaches and it is these that have born the most fruit in the last two hundred years. Although the Commonwealth failed, the Brujah now find themselves firmly in control of the House of Commons, sharing control of the Liberal party with Tremere merchants and noveau riche.
Since the abolition of slavery, a major coup for the Brujah, their pawns in Parliament and in intellectual circles have been pushing for social and political reform which will continue to undermine the power of the Ventrue and, to a lesser extent, the Tremere. The elders of the clan are backing the formation of the new Labour Party, as well as the socialist Fabian Society, hoping to regain their position as a clan of intellectuals.
Unfortunately, there is still a distinct tendency for their hot-headed neonates to join groups like the Dynamiters and radical socialist sects unwilling to hope for reform and looking to destroy the entire structure of Victorian society. These anarchs accuse their elders of becoming just like the hated Ventrue, with their subtle political ploys, and look to the examples in the rest of the world of violent revolution.
This schism in the clan has greatly reduced their effectiveness in weilding their newfound influence. With every step forward that the elders take politically, half a dozen violent acts by their childer surface to lend credence to more conservative views. Throughout the century, even though the Liberals hold power, the office of Prime Minister moves back and forth between the two parties.
