Krewe of Rex

History

The name of this pack is something of a pun. It is the name of the eldest krewe in New Orleans, which the pack's founder had a hand in creating, but it is also a reference to the Rex Mundi, the creator god of Gnostic lore, a homage of sorts to the lord of the primarily Cathari membership and its saint, Malena. Ange formed the pack with the arrival of Father Joseph and was surprised when Malena herself became its sponser. Since then, it has been little more than the cult of Malena. The only non-Cathari member, Ange's childe Louis, remains part of the pack to see after his sire.

The pack has little to no interest in politics, mortal or kindred, and concentrates its efforts on its religious beliefs and the consequences of them. While some members have a slight amount of influence, it is usually just a side-effect of some other endeavor and is not pursued as an end in itself. The more ambitious packs see the Krewe as hopelessly decadent and useless, while the mystically inclined respect their devotion.

Their rites tend to be incredibly debauched and push the limits of what even the most jaded elder would consider acceptable. This has led to it gaining the attention of the Sabbat Inquisition, which is trying to determine if they are infernalists or simply incredibly morally corrupt. Inquisition Paladin Miller is keeping a very close eye on them and has been attempting to find a means to spy on their rites discretely, to judge for himself the extent of their corruption.
