Job, Templar

8th Generation Salubri Antitribu Neonate

History

Nobody is entirely sure where Job came from or who her sire is. Attempts to pry the information out of her mind have failed and she seems either not to remember or is pathologically disinclined to share the information. She claims not to care about anything that happened before her rebirth, though it is clear, through supposition and her manner, that she was probably a child of the street and likely a prostitute and drug addict prior to her Embrace. Some speculate that she was given the gift during a mass embrace on one of the East Coast cities, but the careful choosing of progeny that the few remaining Salubri practice seems to undermine this theory.

The truth is that she was chosen, very carefully, by an older Salubri, who was looking to pass on and thought she would be a worthy candidate to take his place, given the suffering she had lived through. His judgement, however, was clouded by his weariness and desire to be done with the world and her sanity buckled under the Embrace. He attempted to teach her, but she only flew into a rage and, in his apathy for existence, he let her diablerize him. The flood of memories shattered what was left of her mind. Now, she exists as a patchwork of both personas, knitted together by the Path of Enlightenment she was introduced to by one of the Sabbat who took her in. The twisted metaphysics made sense to her mind and gave her a sense of purpose. She has since been travelling from city to city, looking for the best place to fight the Camarilla. Her single-mindedness and habits has earned her a very quick acceptance into the Black Hand.

Her arrival in New Orleans this year is due to Bishop Delacroix's request, looking for someone loyal to the sect to serve the war with Orlando and the Camarilla in Baton Rouge, concerned with the growing infighting among the groups in New Orleans. He isn't quite sure what to make of her, though. She is surely effective and certainly loyal and her hatred of the Camarilla borders on psychotic. She is, however, both young and fanatical, which he thinks may cause a problem at some point. She is unaware of his concerns and is merely looking forward to the next clash.

Personality

Job is psychotic and psychopathic, living in a haze of violent homocidal rage and sadistic urges. Her hatred is driven by the fragments of many, many lives of persecution, loss, and pain. In her humanity, she's experienced bits of the memory of her sire and the Salubri he diablerized and so forth, back to the destruction of their clan by the Tremere. Her hatred of the Camarilla is based on this, on the knowledge that they sat by as her clan was destroyed, though she is not conscious of this.

In person, Job is intense and frightening. Clearly psychotic and with no compunction in causing others pain, most sane people aren't comfortable around her, so she keeps to herself, only coming out when called. She is said to hunt among young men and to torture them to death before draining them. Her serial killer spree is bound to attract attention before long, though so far she's been careful to restrict her hunting to those who won't be readily missed. She exists to cause pain, seeing it as the only way to reach enlightenment, and is both masochistic and sadistic. With no fear of pain or harm, her body is a mish mash of scars. At one point, she might have been very attractive, but madness and combat have claimed her, reflecting themselves in her flesh.

Relationships

Job has very little contact with the kindred of New Orleans. Most are scared of her or dismissive, and all are wary of her sect allegiance and the threat she poses as Delacroix's templar. Some of the Serpents, however, have a deep respect for her and Marie is actually quite intrigued with her. The two have interacted on a few occasions, but nothing much has come of it yet. Job herself has a deep respect for the Samedi, who she feels a kinship to, but thinks little of the others.
