Camille Richelieu

12th Generation Serpent of Light Ancilla

History

Camille's father was a rich Creole banker who began molesting her when she was ten. Never physically violent, he instead told her that it was her beauty and seductiveness which made him do these things to her, that it was, essentially, all her fault. She might have merely had her spirit crushed by this had not Marie Laveau learned of the affair and quietly intervened. She encouraged the daughter to use her power over her father to get what she wanted from him and, in return, the would show her how to take her revenge. Under Marie's tutelage, she planted her hooks deep into her father, using subtle hints, threats, and pure seduction to toy with him.

Upon reaching her maturity, Marie helped her with the final stage. She threatened her father with exposure, not just of his tryst with her but with a number of other criminal acts he had taken part in, many just to keep her in the manner she wanted from him. She used her knowledge of his emotions and desires to torture him, finally driving him to suicide. Pleased with her student and with the hooks she'd gotten into the banking community as a result of her revenge, she took her in and gave her the Embrace. She had a hard time with the change and the Creation Rites were brutal, but she managed to survive.

Camille was instrumental in the the final days of Storyville and was quite unhappy to see them go. She continued her sexual manipulation of men, practicing the act itself as an odd paraphilia, until such time as it grew difficult to simulate. Since then, she's been moving from one bizarre fetishistic surrogate to another while continuing to head the Serpents' prostitution trade under Marie's guidance. She's a follower of Malena and an adherent of voodoo, but mostly to please her sire. She lacks a strong conviction for either, preferring to focus on the more practical trade of blackmail and extortion arts.

In the last couple decades, she has become rather immersed in the gothic subculture and the related sadomasochistic and bondage subculture. She's been moving away from purely running prostitution and has actually purchased several clubs in the city which she uses as means to gather information, meeting places for the Serpents, and fronts for her escort services. They cover a variety of dark themes, from a purely gothic industrial dance club to a strictly invite-only hidden BDSM club which skirts the line of what's legal. Her success at this endeavor has made her a rather influential member of the Serpents' pack rather than the minor operative and lieutenant of Marie's that she was prior. In particular, her maintenance of a large herd, which she is willing to provide to any kindred who visits her club for a price, has made her very popular, even outside her pack.

Personality

Camille is still, in a sense, coping with the damage her father inflicted upon her all those years ago. Her need to control those who are attracted to her and her odd attachment to sexual forms of expression are both very firmly linked to her abuse. However, as is the case with many vampires, these urges have been refined over the years. Her controlling nature has become a mastery of the arts of seduction and manipulation and have grown very subtle and sublime since her mortal days. Likewise, her sexual paraphilia has been so deeply explored that it is now a profound degeneracy that surpasses anything imaginable by even an experienced bondage enthusiast.

Because of this, Camille comes off as eccentric, at the very least, but usually supremely kinky in an almost disturbingly seductive manner. Her knack for drawing out the depraved fantasies of even the most self-controlled individuals has led to the formation of an extremely devoted group of deviants who worship at her altar.

Relationships

Camille is on very good terms with her sire and enjoys the prestige that being her second-in-command provides. She is also on fairly good terms with the rest of her pack, though she is a bit fearful of those loyal to Paris and Legba, partially because of their cold ambition but mostly because of the threat she sees them as posing for her sire.

She's on good terms with the other Cathari in New Orleans, and is especially fond of the members of the Krewe of Rex, who share her odd tastes and debauched sensibilities. She's even on friendly terms with Beranger, though the two are competitors in the same business. The only member of this crowd she is wary of is Malena, whom she just finds incredibly scary.

Camille gives little thought to the other Lasombra or their allies and tried hard not to think about the Samedi and their weird necromantic practices. She also has little interest in the fight against the Camarilla, but is loyal to her pack and won't back down in a fight. She has, however, been almost destroyed on one occasion, by a Brujah during the final days of the war, and has no urge to see this happen again. She's perfectly happy just to attend to her own businesses and leave the politics to the Lasombra.

Influence

Most of Camille's influence comes from her clubs and the blackmail scheme she's maintained with her prostitutes and escorts. While it isn't the broad political or social influence many of the other kindred enjoy, it is her sway amongst them that is more important to her power. She's been quite successful in establishing herself among the kindred of the city as a provider of food, private meeting places, and whatever else their degenerate appetites call for. This is often more valuable than her mortal connections, as well established as they are.

Camille's four clubs are Chakras (invite-only BDSM club), Club Carmilla (vampire-themed goth club), 666 Bourbon (gothic industrial dance club), and Richelieu's (high class Creole restaurant/escort service). Most of her herd is at the second of these, though she can arrange particularly violent sessions at the first for those vampires who prefer a struggle or sadistic abuse. She is also in the process of opening a fifth, called Libertine, a more public BDSM club.
