Keith Davies got his nickname from an uncanny resemblance to a character in Die Hard, which had come out the year he was inducted into his gang. It was one of many indignities that he was forced to undergo for a piece of the pie and the only reason he's held onto it is as a statement that he'll never put up with that again. A gang member with a lot of ambition but not a lot of luck, the pinnacle of the latter was his arrival at the warehouse where his fellow members hung out give minutes before Henri and a legion of Serpent flunkies burst in and blew the holy hell out of the place. Winged, but alive, Argyle was dragged back to the Florida Street Projects so that Marie could make an example of him.
His situation snapped something inside of him and he didn't cower before his captors. Spitting in Marie's face, he told her to go to hell and take the rest of them with her. Henri would have split open his head if she hadn't stopped him. Taking the young gangbanger aside, she made a deal with him. Seeing his first big lucky break (rather than his only chance for survival), he agreed and, over the course of the next few monthes, he helped Marie and the Serpents take over his and several other gangs. In recognition of his service, Marie inducted him into the pack.
Argyle might be bothered more about being a vampire if he gave it more thought, but running into Marie and being Embraced has, so far, been the best thing that's ever happened to him. He has also proven to be continually valuable to the pack as a more rational, cool-headed intermediary for dealing with the street gangs, balancing out Henri's sociopathic excesses. He's also proven to have a decent head for the street level aspect of the drug trade and has been left to coordinate distribution.
Argyle is a born opportunist in the sense that he's lived his life in conditions that require that you take risks and seize your chances when they come. As such, he's a big believer in the power of competition to separate the weaklings from the elite and counts himself firmly among the latter. He is smart enough, though, not to grow too cocky and, though he enjoys his current success, he's not so arrogant to be put off his guard.
He's also very American, to the dismay of the Haitian members of the pack, who get annoyed with his mannerisms and slang and use Creole in his presence just to piss him off. He is, however, loyal to the pack and refuses to take sides in the whole Marie-Legba struggle, despite the fact that everyone assumes he is in Marie's court.
Pack or not, Argyle likes doing business with the Serpents. They have style and they're not ones to be fucked with and he respects that. He could live without the voodoo crap and the religious nonsense Marie is always pushing on him, but otherwise he's loyal.
He could do without Henri, who steps on his toes rather frequently but seems to have a direct line to the big boss and so seems untouchable. He's been useful during the similarly frequent run-ins with the Brujah, though, and for this he's thankful. Never hurts to have a former death squad members on call when things go to shit.
His feelings about the Lasombra are more ambivalent. While he respects their success and the way they do business, he can't get over their privilege and the aristocratic manner they comport themselves. Something about it rubs the street kid in him the wrong way and so he tends to only deal with them when necessary. The same goes for their associates.
The Krewe of Rex he sees as little more than spoiled rich kids. Good clients, bad associates. The Samedi are just plain creepy, but they don't seem interested in messing with his stuff so he doesn't bother them. He has heard that they are the ones to go to if you need dirt on anyone, but hasn't gotten up the nerve to ever test the rumour.
Argyle is well established among the street gangs and drug dealers in the city and has a lot of raw power at the street level. Unfortunately, most of his clients are fairly lower class, so he's lacking in significant political or economic weight. He can, however, have people's kneecaps broken or get a warehouse burned down, which can be quite handy in supporting the efforts of the higher ups in their grand schemes.
