Rodolphe Brasseaux

Bratovich Revenant

History

Uncle Rodolphe was born just prior to the Second Sabbat Civil War and he lost both of his parents to it, thereafter raised by his Aunt Roberta, who just prior had lost her eldest daughter Carole to the spanish flu. He was given all of the twisted love and affection any Brasseaux could expect, but the quiet, brooding boy did not seem receptive to any comfort. Instead, he spent his time in the kennels, taking care of the animals. And there he stayed as the rest of the family's affairs went by. Now, nobody but the kindred remember a time when Uncle Rodolphe wasn't tending to the dogs and other animals. Most are also unsure if he communicates through growls and grunts by choice or because he never mastered the art of human speech.

However, Rodolphe is a much beloved member of the family, particularly by the two heads of the Brasseaux household. The Tzimisce hold him in even greater accord, though, for his skill at fleshcrafting and his ingenuity in breeding and modifying the hounds. His eighty years as their keeper has given him ample time to learn everything there is to know about their anatomy and its limitations and few of his experiments these days fail. Furthermore, he is adept at making subtle modifications which aren't so apparent to the casual observer, a talent which many similar fleshcrafters lack.

Personality

Rodolphe generally comes off as menacing and bestial, mostly due to his choice of communication mediums and also because of the company he keeps. While he isn't a smart man, he is very skilled at what he does and is strong and quick as any young member of the family. His lack of good looks, deplorable hygeine, and animalistic manner have prevented him from having any sort of meaningful relationship, though there is wide family speculation about he and Ida which is, in all likelihood, perfectly true.

Relationships

Uncle Rodolphe is fond of his niece Émeline and her husband and is generally protective of the rest of his family. His heart, however, is in his work. He is fiercly possessive of his dogs and has been known to stand up to even Jean-Michel on occasion, when he feels they've been misused.

Towards the Prejeans, he is generally indifference, and the same is true of the non-Tzimisce kindred at the plantation. He does, however, respect Jean-Michel greatly, some would say even more than his mistress Marie-Thérèse.

Rodolphe is also well acquainted with the Gangrel Antitribu of Houma and feels a strong kinship with them, particularly Nicole. It has been whispered that he even talks to them, on occasion, and that they have shared blood.

Due to the death of his parents during the Second Sabbat Civil War, he still has a deep hatred of the Lasombra, even more so than his hatred of the Camarilla, and has been known to refuse to obey the orders of the family kindred when he knows they serve the New Orleans Magisters.
