Mages

As the times have changed, so have those mystics who have had influence in the great city of London. In ages past, it was the Verbena who reigned, first those who worshipped as the druids and then the priests and priestesses of Roman gods. Soon, however, Christianity caught up with this far-flung island nation and, with it, came the Celestial Chorus and Cabal of Pure Thought, at the time part of the same tradition. They ruled for a long time out of Irish monastaries and Gothic cathedrals, before the split with Rome resulted in the Anglican Church, under the careful eye of the Cabal and its allies. Slowly, the city of London itself was turned over to the Guild and rebuilt by the Artificers after the Great Fire. Now, the old mystics hide from the blinding light of reason which now dominates the greatest city in the world.
